TAP Electrical Contracting Service Inc. (TAP Electric) has been in business since 1969. Over the many years, TAP has worked in the capacity of an electrical subcontractor as well as and more often as an electrical prime contractor with the ability and capacity to perform large scale electrical projects. TAP Electric has worked for many public agencies including New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), NYS and NYC DOT, Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority, New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad and Metro North Railroad. TAP has also performed private work – everything from minor office renovations to large commercial / industrial building projects. The firm holds electrical licenses for numerous municipalities in and around NYC.
Recently, TAP completed nearly $80M worth of work for Transit Wireless, a private firm that partnered with the MTA to provide cellular service, Wi-Fi and countdown clocks in all of NYC’s 400+ subway stations. To make the project even more challenging, the schedule was accelerated at the request of Governor Andrew Cuomo, who insisted that the work be completed a year ahead of schedule. TAP was able to achieve this by adding personnel and increasing work hours. The success of the project was highly touted in the media. TAP’s strength is its people. Over the years, the company has developed a vast group of talented professionals and skilled electrical workers, so that no project is too big or too small. TAP also relies heavily on its financial strength, which has proven to be beneficial to its clients time and time again.
