We help improve the communities we serve through our public works projects although, we love to take it a step further and directly contribute to those in need in these communities. We wanted to give thanks to all of these wonderful charities that help make the world a better place. We are proud to be a part of all of these amazing organizations.
Akshaya Patra | Food For Education
The 2021 Super Bowl Box winner chose the charity Akshaya Patra to donate to. At Akshaya Patra, they dream of a world where families won’t have to choose between food and education for their children. A wholesome meal prompts children, especially girls, to stay out of the workforce and attend school thereby addressing both classroom hunger and education. Only $20.00 feeds a child for an entire school year.
Island Harvest Food Bank Island Harvest Food Bank has been leading hunger-relief on Long Island since 1992. Each year we host a food drive at our office and our employees band together to donate countless amounts of cans, food, and supplies for those in need. Toys for Tots Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes those toys to less fortunate children for the holidays. Each year we get into the giving spirit by picking up an additional gift while we are out holiday shopping for this great cause. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital advances cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay. To support this amazing organization, each year we participate in the Kids For Kids Bronx Zoo Event. Annually we host an activity and enjoy the zoo while supporting a great cause. This year we received a beautiful plaque!
Wounded Warrior Project Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services, and events for wounded veterans of the military. This year we decided to do a 50/50 Superbowl Pool and after a close game, the final score winner this year chose the charity, Wounded Warrior Project. Helping Hands Rescue Mission The Helping Hand Rescue Mission seeks to improve the conditions of the children, families, and people of the communities that they serve by providing excellent service to all who come. For easter this year we donated 60 Easter Baskets to Helping Hands Rescue Mission. We were so happy that we exceeded our original goal of 50 baskets.
Kat's Ribbon of Hope funds life-saving research through their collaborations with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Feinstein Institute, and Weill Cornell Breast Center. Each year they host an annual golf outing and we are proud to participate and support the fight against breast cancer. Stony Brook Hospital COVID Rapid Response Fund The Stony Brook Hospital COVID Rapid Response Biodesign and Medical Engineering Fund quickly respond to evolving needs for novel medical equipment based on feedback received from the front line clinical providers at the hospital. Funds raised go directly to collaborative and innovative device design, interactive rapid prototyping, and the testing and rollout of solutions addressing the health and safety of COVID-19 patients and their healthcare providers. As the COVID-19 crisis began to unfold, Forte-TAP answered the call to donate to the Stony Brook Hospital COVID Fund mentioned above, New York State, and Northwell Health Hospital.
JRRF is leading the fight against type 1 diabetes (T1D) by funding research, advocating for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and providing a support network for millions of people around the world impacted by T1D. Each year we support the Walk To End T1D.
GallopNYC GallopNYC uses the proven benefits of therapeutic horsemanship to provide measurable benefits for people with developmental, emotional, social, and physical disabilities. We were honored to support GallopNYC at this year's Barn Dance honoring Charles Boyce. It was wonderful hearing all of the touching stories of how horses provide therapeutic experiences. BRC BRC developed an innovative response to the needs of so-called “service resistant” individuals experiencing homelessness, recognizing that the style and size of most shelters were unappealing to those that were not able to meet typical shelter requirements for sobriety and maintaining curfew. We assisted Urbahn Architects' AIA Day of Service with an exterior upgrade of the Men's Shelter in Brooklyn, NY. We were proud to donate labor and materials for this worthy project that will ultimately improve the community.
