Substantial Completion of Livonia Avenue Station

Livonia Ave Station

Congratulations to the Citnalta-TAP Joint Venture on successfully reaching substantial completion on MTA C&D/New York City Transit's Design and Construction of Accessibility Upgrades at Livonia Avenue Station on the Canarsie Line in the Borough of Brooklyn.

The NYCT Accessibility Upgrades at Livonia Avenue Station included upgrading the elevated station with three lines over a footbridge to become ADA compliant. This project included the installation of elevators and ADA-required improvements to architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components and a new communication system. The elevators and ADA improvements at this station make it accessible to all who live in this community.

Scope of Work Included:

  • Installation of two elevators with a passageway above the tracks for transfer between platforms and future transfer to the Junius St IRT station

  • New platform windscreens, canopies, and platform ADA modifications

  • Street-level elevator machine room with new ADA compliant stairs to platforms and passageway

  • Agent booth upgrades include an ADA deal tray, fire alarm, public address, and elevator intercom

  • ADA-required improvements to architectural, structural, mechanical, and components

  • Control house and platforms are configured for ADA boarding
